Career Opportunity: Orientation and Mobility Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Orientation and Mobility specialist to join our team in Dubbo on a permanent full-time or part-time basis, to provide services that support individuals with vision impairment to develop, enhance and maintain independence in their daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:- Respond to requests for information and support from clients.
- Establish effective communication and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Plan and conduct individualized Orientation and Mobility assessments, synthesize findings, and communicate results with clients and case teams.
- Develop and implement client-centered Orientation and Mobility programs.
- Train clients in orientation and mobility techniques across various environments.
- Monitor and evaluate clients' O&M skills to identify potentially dangerous situations and intervene as appropriate.
- Tertiary qualification in Orientation and Mobility, current completion of COMS
- Able to travel regularly by car and domestic flight for overnight stays
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail, analysis, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Sound skills in utilizing computer applications and modern technology
