Job Summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Disability Support Professional to join our team in Sale. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the House Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Supported Independent Living service, ensuring seamless delivery of support services.
  • Manage team performance, including rostering, performance management, records management, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Lead and plan support for individuals with disabilities within their home and community, based on individualized support plans.
  • Support initiatives that promote individual choice, control, and independence within the shared home environment.
  • Advocate for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported individuals within the broader community.
  • Communicate effectively with supported individuals and their families to meet daily needs and plan for future requirements.
  • Administer medication treatments, therapies, or seek assistance according to established protocols.
Requirements
  • Hold or be working towards an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of disability, with the ability to apply policies and processes.
  • Specialized and contemporary understanding of disability, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to client support.
  • Understanding and familiarity with NDIS funding and planning processes.
  • Understanding of person-centered active support, positive behavior support, and its implementation within a diverse team.
  • Passion for supporting individuals with mental health and intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and skill with coaching, supervision, and planning practices.
  • Competencies using Microsoft Office software programs.
  • NDIS worker screening check.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver's License.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate - 3 doses.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
