Assistant Accountant Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, prioritizes accuracy, and is eager to grow their career in a dynamic and creative environment.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth operation of our financial systems. They will support the Financial Controller and the wider finance team by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, assisting with payroll, and contributing to end-of-month processes.

This role is central to ensuring that our financial reporting remains accurate, timely, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting with payroll.
  • Support the Financial Controller and the wider finance team to maintain the smooth operation of our financial systems.
  • Contribute to end-of-month processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Requirements:Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or commerce (CA/CPA qualified or working towards it)
Experience:
  • At least 2 years' experience in financial administration or bookkeeping
Skillset:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong reconciliation abilities
  • High-level numeracy and attention to detail in data and figures
  • Organised and methodical with excellent administrative skills
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
