Salary and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive:

This Equine Care Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to join our small, committed team. As a key member of our Off-Track Thoroughbred Welfare Association (OTTWA), you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to horses in our Retraining and Rehoming program.
You will need to demonstrate your experience in:
- Undertaking day-to-day duties for horse care, including grooming, feeding, and exercising both in hand and ridden
- Maintaining high levels of horse care and training records
- Ensuring the general wellbeing of horses, identifying potential issues, and escalating concerns as directed by your manager
- Assisting with horse identification, intake, and out-take procedures for the Retraining and Rehoming program
- Supporting all aspects of the Off-Track Estate program where required
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum two years' experience working with horses in a similar capacity (preferably with thoroughbred or standardbred horses)
- Demonstrated riding ability, preferably with thoroughbred or standardbred horses
- Experience assessing a horse's level of handling and temperament
- Knowledge of general horse care and husbandry
- Ability to work independently and manage time autonomously
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks
- A current 'C' class driver's license
- Physical fitness and ability to cope with the demands of the role
- Attention to detail and high standards of care
