The Orange Door is a pioneering initiative that brings together diverse workforces and practices to create an integrated team and a consolidated intake point in each area. This innovative approach aims to provide a new way of support for individuals and families experiencing family violence, as well as those in need of support with the care and well-being of children and young people.
The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Practitioner to join our Orange Door team. As a Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with a mix of staff from various organizations to provide specialist support to individuals and families affected by family violence. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and prioritizing risks and needs, as well as providing initial responses and referrals.
Key Responsibilities- Screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, and targeted interventions
- Allocation of services and coordination of referrals
- Collaborative working with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working with perpetrators of violence and men/fathers
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral sciences, or associate diploma level with substantial experience
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues
- Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma
- The ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and needs of clients in a whole-of-family approach
