Geological Engineer Opportunity

In a fast-paced and exciting work environment, we offer the chance to grow and develop as a Geological Engineer. This role involves supporting our operation through the creation of mine designs and schedules that are technically robust and maximise value.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual who shares our values – Think Sharp, Dig In and Care. As a Geological Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expertise and oversight to optimise mine design and scheduling. You will also reconcile the mine design process and ensure conformance to plan.

Liaising with stakeholders regarding short-term design and scheduling is an essential part of this role. You will review equipment conformance to plan and performance feedback.

This is a professional role based on site at HVO in the Hunter Valley Operations area. We offer a safe and enjoyable workplace where everyone is respected, valued, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the operation through mine designs and schedules that are technically robust and maximise value.
  • Provide expertise and oversight to optimise mine design and scheduling.
  • Reconcile the mine design process and ensure conformance to plan.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding short-term design and scheduling.
  • Review equipment conformance to plan and performance feedback.
Requirements:
  • A commitment to best practice health, safety, environment, and community at all times.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or demonstrated practical experience).
  • Possession of excellent planning, organising and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Vulcan, Deswik or other CAD software would be desirable.
