Weekend Family Violence Specialist

A part-time fixed-term position is available within the Austin Health social work department. The successful candidate will provide direct family violence and child safe practice to referred patients, using various frameworks and protocols.
The role requires an experienced social worker with a deep understanding of family violence and child safety reform. You will have a proven track record of quality improvement and be comfortable providing education and guidance to staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct family violence and child safe practice
- Information sharing and referral to relevant community agencies
- General social work to referred patients
- Secondary consultation and support to Austin Health staff
- Contributing to policy, procedure, guidelines, and clinical forms/tools
Required skills and qualifications include:
- A degree in Social Work with at least 7 years' experience
- Clinical skill and specialist knowledge in family violence and child safe matters
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
