As a key support to a Queensland State Government client, we are seeking an experienced Lawyer Leader within Customer Legal Services.

The Role Overview

This position functions similarly to a private law firm within the public sector, prioritizing high-quality client outcomes. You will guide and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals while managing a diverse and challenging caseload.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leading and mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals to deliver efficient services.
  • Managing complex litigation files and advisory work in areas such as civil litigation, equity, trusts, and property law.
  • Representing the Department in Court and Tribunal proceedings several times each week.
  • Ensuring compliance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
About the Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experienced lawyer with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capability to lead a team of legal professionals.
  • Strong technical expertise across civil litigation, succession law, or elder/disability law.
