Job Title: Field Services Engineer

As a Field Services Engineer, you will provide technical support and maintenance for medical equipment in retail pharmacies, central pharmacies, and hospitals across South Australia.

The role involves providing software and hardware support for BD Pyxis, ROWA, and Synmed systems, as well as performing remote diagnostics, field repairs, preventative maintenance, performance testing, and electrical safety testing of company-related electro-medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose system errors and customer issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure software levels of equipment are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Meet product repair turnaround goals and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide technical sales support, including workflow and system reviews during the implementation process.
  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance tasks as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate Preventative Maintenance visits and breakdown visits to fit in with customers' requirements.
  • Comply with SOPs for Preventative Maintenance, service agreements, and technical support.
  • Manage cases between Service Desk and customer for assigned sites, escalating and managing as required.
  • Retrieve technical information from devices and servers to assist with support cases.
  • Use established tools to ensure all devices have the latest antivirus files and Microsoft Security Patches according to established policy.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with Account Managers/ Product Managers, Project Managers, and contractors.
  • Assist and advise pre-sales service departments as needed to stakeholders.
  • Follow safe work practices at all times to ensure the health and safety of oneself or other persons in the company.
  • Educate on potential issues, customer complaints, or tasks requiring special skills or resources to the Project Manager & Regional Service Manager.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate appropriately.
  • Document all work accurately and up-to-date for repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, performance, and electrical safety testing.
  • Maintain records in accordance with Medical Systems work instructions.
  • Maintain relevant skills and knowledge to accomplish acceptable performance.
  • Participate in training courses on specialized topics locally or overseas as required.
  • Understand the latest Australian Standards relating to electro-medical equipment.
  • Maintain company confidentiality in dealings with customers and product knowledge.
  • Coordinate and report metrics for recalls, liaise with appropriate business groups as needed.
  • Be available to work travel and interstate on short notice as requested.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of electronics and computing.
  • Technical knowledge of server operations and diagnostic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to identify and escalate potential issues.
  • Restricted Electrical License (optional).
  • Minimum education requirements: Electronics/computing Trades Certificate, Engineering Certificate.
