About the Role

The core of our operation revolves around our Response Network, comprised of dedicated Sonder Responders who provide in-person support to members in need, working in tandem with our Support Centre.

Eligible candidates from serving and former workers within identified industries are encouraged to apply, offering flexibility to balance work-life responsibilities while enjoying your on-call capacity.

You will be employed as part of the Sonder Responders Network on a casual basis.

Sonder Responders adhere to a flexible, 24-hour on-call roster, making this an exciting opportunity for the right individuals to establish and grow the network in Australia from the ground up.

Your expertise in decision-making, response, empathy, and driving positive outcomes will be vital to success and job satisfaction in this role.

You will also collaborate with the Response Network Manager when required to:

  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement to support business outputs
  • Nurture partnerships, engagement, and training initiatives
  • Provide input on operational procedures and network management
  • Assist in emergency and non-emergency support responses as needed to support local responder networks

Who We're Looking For?

We seek experienced individuals from the military, law enforcement, mental health sector, or emergency services backgrounds who are passionate about delivering assistance to those in need.

We require someone confident in assessing critical situations and determining or recommending next steps, emphasizing empathy and interpersonal sensitivity.

You will possess:

  • Recent or current experience within Australian emergency services, military, and/or security-related work, along with a strong local network
  • A high level of self-awareness, motivation, and self-management
  • The ability to set priorities, act on key issues, and make quick decisions while displaying interpersonal sensitivity
  • Flexibility in adhering to a dynamic, on-call roster
