Job Title: Probation Services Officer

The role of a Probation Services Officer is to work with individuals who have been released from prison or are on probation, providing guidance and support to help them reintegrate into society.

This position requires strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Interpersonal and negotiation skills are also essential, as the incumbent will need to engage with a range of stakeholders, including service users, colleagues, and external agencies.

Awareness of sensitivity and confidentiality issues is crucial in this role, as the incumbent will often be working with vulnerable individuals. Strong communication skills are also necessary, particularly when conducting difficult conversations and negotiating resolutions.

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess a degree qualification in a human services discipline and have experience in planning, organizing, and delivering services to clients. A Certificate IV in Correctional Practice would be highly regarded, but is not mandatory. The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and hold a C class driver's license.

Applications for this position remain current for 12 months, during which time the incumbent will undertake training relevant to the position. This may include urinalysis testing, court duties, and other training identified for operational service delivery by the Delegate.
