As an Internal Review Officer, you will play a critical role in managing the assessment and processing of infringement reviews of Council decisions.

This is an administrative-based role that requires strong analytical and decision-making skills. You will be responsible for reviewing customer complaints and insurance claims, and making administrative infringement review decisions in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of infringement notices and make decisions based on Council policies and procedures.
  • Ensure procedural fairness and confidentiality are applied in all circumstances.
  • Draft and produce correspondence to stakeholders.

Key Criteria:

  • Experience reviewing applications and supporting evidence to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and make technical recommendations.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Local Government Act 1989 and 2020, Infringements Act 2016, Victorian Road Rules, Domestic Animals Act, and Council's General Local Laws.
  • Local council experience and understanding of Council's policies and procedures.
