As the Director of Medicine, you will be responsible for the overall functioning of the medical department, overseeing the associated multidisciplinary teams. This is a permanent full-time position, with a 76-hour fortnight commitment.

Remuneration Package

The competitive pro rata remuneration package includes:

  • Up to $70,000 in incentive payments may be available
  • Base salary ranges between $210,332 and $266,677 per annum (L18-L27)
  • Superannuation employer contribution 12.75%
  • 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 35-50% base annual salary
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary
  • Motor vehicle allowance
  • Inaccessibility allowance
  • Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated
Location

A vibrant city with an outback community feel, offering a unique blend of natural splendor and rural/urban community experience.

Facility

The medical facility offers a range of services, including:

  • Specialist outreach patient services, including Nephrology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Respiratory, and Gastroenterology, managed through a combination of onsite and telehealth clinic delivery.
  • Remote outreach to communities in high-volume specialties, particularly Nephrology and Cardiology/Rheumatic Heart Disease.
  • The Medical Ward (22-bed unit) admitting to General Medicine with 2 dedicated palliative care beds.
  • 10-chair on-site Renal Unit and remote community dialysis.
  • 6-chair Cancer Care Unit.
  • 5-bed open Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit supported by Anaesthetics team for critical interventions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold current General and Specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Hold FRACP.
  • A dual Fellowship in a relevant specialty will be highly regarded.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • A period of probation may apply.
