About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Manager Rail Safeworking to join our team at Queensland Rail. As a key member of our Train Control and Planning team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of safeworking and training strategies to ensure compliance with legislative and corporate governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced training programs and safeworking strategies aligned with safeworking standards and evolving operational needs
  • Provide strategic and visible leadership within the Regional Train Control and Planning team and engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve safeworking and training issues
  • Oversee the execution of training and operational plans to meet regulatory standards and business goals
  • Act as the central coordination point for safeworking-related projects, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements and effective implementation
  • Lead and support trainers to ensure high-quality and consistent training delivery across both control centres
  • Develop and implement audit tools and evaluation practices to measure training effectiveness and safeworking compliance
  • Provide expert advice on safeworking practices, resource management, and operational issues
  • Lead efforts to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety performance, and overall effectiveness
  • Lead thorough investigations into rail safety incidents, ensuring comprehensive analysis and actionable recommendations
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in rail operations, safeworking practices, and training and assessment. You will have a high level of project management skills, including change management and stakeholder management, as well as excellent interpersonal, consultation, and negotiation skills.

You will also hold a current TAE40110 Cert IV Training and Assessment and have a strong understanding of Queensland Network Rules and Procedures.
