Chief Life Insurance Risk Manager

This leadership position involves guiding a small team responsible for managing risk across various areas, with a focus on the life insurance sector. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be an integral part of the Australia Risk Leadership team and play a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and transactions.
Main Responsibilities- Oversee the management of risk awareness programs and drive best practices across all risk types.
- Closely collaborate with first-line leaders and provide independent oversight on critical projects and transactions.
- Deliver comprehensive risk reporting and expert opinions to senior committees and the Board.
- Contribute to enterprise risk governance frameworks and ensure adherence to industry benchmarks.
- Nurture relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and Group functions.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services risk management, specifically within life insurance.
- In-depth expertise across multiple risk types, with practical application of controls and remediation strategies.
- Deep knowledge of the Australian insurance market, its regulatory landscape, and life insurance risk characteristics.
- Solid understanding of enterprise risk management principles and best practice governance frameworks.
- Experience operating within APRA and ASIC frameworks, including direct engagement with regulators.
