Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of secure ICT systems in Canberra. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with strong project management skills and experience in working with government agencies.

About the Role

This role involves managing projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, including the client, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, resource allocation, and timelines;
  • Coordinate with the client to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs;
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure compliance with financial regulations;
  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project goals and objectives;
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring project continuity and delivery;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills;
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in the government sector;
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards;
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall;
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills;
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in project/program support, preferably within secure ICT systems in the government domain;
  • Experience with network integration at the tactical and operational levels within the ADF, including interfaces to strategic network boundaries;
  • Highly effective stakeholder management skills (internal and cross-organisation);
  • Experience in organisational and project risk management;
  • Delivering within the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act;
  • Experience with agile project software, in particular Atlassian – Jira;
