Job Title: Literacy Coach

St Mary's Greensborough Primary School is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Literacy Coach to join our team.

About the Role

The successful applicant will have a deep understanding of literacy education and be responsible for targeted teaching and growth of teachers and students. They will work collaboratively with the Literacy Leader and Learning Culture Leader to improve learning outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement literacy programs that cater to the needs of students and teachers.
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers to enhance their literacy skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Literacy Leader to develop and implement school-wide literacy initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of literacy programs and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with current pedagogical practices and research in literacy education.
Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to literacy education.
  • Capacity to translate a broad and contemporary knowledge of literacy intervention into learning programs.
  • Developed organisational and time management skills with an ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to coach and manage in ways that values and upholds high expectations of staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to reflect on one's own practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth in the areas of education, leadership and literacy.
Requirements

The successful applicant should:

  • Have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (desirable).
  • Be committed to child safety and maintaining best practices to ensure this.
  • Have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our St Mary's Code of Conduct.
  • Hold a current VIT registration.
