Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to provide low-intensity mental health services and psychological therapies for residents living in residential aged care facilities.


Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver high-quality mental health services and psychological therapies to residents, responding to their diverse needs and circumstances.
  • Provide targeted interventions for residents at risk or with mild to moderate and severe mental health conditions.
  • Assess and triage comorbid conditions contributing to or impacting a person's psychological state.
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings and risk assessments to ensure resident safety and well-being.

Requirements



  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology, and relevant registration with AASW or AHPRA.
  • Experience working in aged care, mental health, or medical settings, preferably with older adults.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dementia care and assessment, and delivery of mental health training to clinical staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a stepped care framework, with a focus on meeting the needs of older people experiencing mild to moderate and severe mental health conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
