The role of a pool lifeguard is to provide a safe swimming environment for centre visitors. This requires patience, focus, and excellent communication skills to inform and educate pool users about safe aquatic practices.

The duties of this role include:

  • Supervising a large aquatic space to ensure a safe environment
  • Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Ensuring facility rules are being followed while educating users about safe aquatic practices
  • Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility, and equipment

This is a casual position that offers an hourly rate.

We are seeking motivated and organized lifeguards who can work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and all facility users.

Required qualifications include:

  • Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate – funding may be available
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
