Chief Fire Protection Engineer for Global Data Centers

We are seeking an experienced Chief Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd. This is a key role that will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and operation of fire protection systems across our global data centers.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement fire protection strategies that meet local codes, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, International Code Council (ICC) requirements, and other industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations to ensure fire protection systems are designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with established standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders on fire protection-related matters, including code compliance, design, installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure fire protection systems are functioning as intended and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the fire protection industry and apply this knowledge to inform design decisions and drive innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in design engineering or construction related to fire protection.
- Certification as a Licensed Fire Protection Engineer is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ICC Codes, NFPA Standards, and FM global requirements, including development processes and technical committee participation.
- Experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive fire protection design.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- A competitive salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on experience.
