A key role within a Federal Government department is now available. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of complex programs and ensuring outcomes align with departmental objectives.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of program management experience, preferably within a Federal or Commonwealth setting. You should possess strong Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) skills, including indicator design, data collection tools, and performance analytics. Additionally, formal program management certifications, such as MSP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or RegPM, are highly desirable.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-impact agency undergoing mission-critical digital and strategic reform. As a Program Manager, you will operate within a senior leadership sphere, influencing major delivery outcomes and contributing to national-level change.
You will drive full lifecycle program execution, planning, controlling, and managing cross-functional delivery. Your responsibilities will include overseeing multiple interrelated projects and procurement workstreams, managing dependencies and shared risks. You will lead performance monitoring, milestone tracking, and reporting across KPIs, dashboards, and progress reviews. Furthermore, you will develop and implement M&E frameworks aligned with program outcomes and indicators.
The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly in leading high-level engagement with DFAT officials, vendors, partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders. You will also oversee risk identification, issue resolution, and mitigation planning, as well as maintaining program integrity through compliance, legal, audit, and privacy controls.
Your deliverables will include a comprehensive program plan covering milestones, resourcing, risk mitigation, and critical path. You will also develop performance monitoring systems, risk and compliance oversight procedures, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Additionally, you will monitor and advise on program financials, working closely with Procurement and Director-level stakeholders.
