Job Description

We seek an experienced Domestic Caterer (Kitchen Hand) for a permanent part-time role at Juniper Hillcrest in Geraldton.

The role consists of 36 hours per fortnight, working shift times. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and presenting meals
  • Providing kitchen hand services, including food preparation, modifying food texture, accurately apportioning food, serving food to residents, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
  • Cleaning cooking areas and equipment to a high standard
  • Applying safe food handling practices and adhering to policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

Key Requirements include:

  • Valid work rights in Australia
  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and hygiene standards, including expertise in maintaining cleanliness and safety
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, customers, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures
