Job Overview

The Training Officer role is responsible for improving the skills and knowledge of law enforcement and management within the organization.

This position delivers, assesses, and evaluates firearms, operational skills, and tactics training, as well as first aid training, contributing to education and training development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical operational skills training, including firearms training, to personnel and clients.
  • Apply adult education methodologies relevant to organizational operational skills training programs and internal education and training policies and processes.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to staff members.
  • Assess program participants and prepare reports based on assessments.
  • Plan, facilitate, and review the delivery and assessment of education and training programs.
  • Liaise with and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and other agencies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of course curricula through research, evaluation, and development relating to training.
  • Maintain information management and administrative systems to monitor and record training and assessment.
  • Continue personal development and training for best practice in instructional skills.
Requirements

Open C-class license required.

Qualifications

No mandatory qualifications, but formal Assessment and Training qualifications are highly regarded.

Additional Information

Successful applicants must complete relevant operational skills and tactics courses if not already qualified.
