Community Fire Safety Specialist
">Ongoing employment in a local fire station setting involves working on-call hours and maintaining a base retainer with additional compensation for incident and drill attendance. The role requires living or working within a reasonable distance of the fire station.
">About the Role:
">As a Community Fire Safety Specialist, you will undertake various duties including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards. This includes collaborating with other emergency services like NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police.
">You will be paid for attendance at incidents, training sessions, community safety and education activities. Successful candidates must be team-oriented, community-focused, adaptable, reliable, and have availability across weekdays and weekends.
">About You:
">To excel in this role, you need to live or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station. Required skills include a valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1) and Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
">Key Responsibilities:
">Training is provided on an ongoing basis covering all aspects of firefighting and rescue, including basic life support, rope work, power tool use, and community engagement skills.
">Attendance Requirements:
">Candidates are expected to attend at least 33% of calls over a six-month period and meet minimum availability requirements during compulsory periods.
