About the Role

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Senior Advisor, Education Innovation to play a key role in advancing educational excellence. This position will advise on curriculum development, innovative teaching technologies, and best practices in pedagogy, working closely with the Academic Director to support the development and refinement of new academic programs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Course Innovation and Quality: working with academic leadership to ensure the strategic alignment and sustainability of new education programs and innovation initiatives
  • Providing advice and strategic insight on curriculum design, course content, and instructional approaches to align with industry best practices, institutional goals, and emerging trends in education
  • Using learning and teaching quality metrics and reports to identify challenges relating to education provision, and evaluating and suggesting best practice innovative education methodologies, curriculum design, and teaching technologies for appropriate solutions

Who We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will excel in building strong stakeholder relationships, demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to drive academic program innovation. They will be highly adaptable, possess strong organisational and time management abilities, and be capable of making complex decisions. Additionally, they will have a proven track record in change management, working collaboratively to implement effective workplace practices while upholding the values of respect, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements include:

  • A graduate qualification in a relevant field with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at multiple levels, including operational, strategic, and relational, to drive academic program innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex judgments and decisions and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Excellent information synthesis and written communication skills
