Internal Audit Manager

BDO is seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to lead our Risk Advisory Services team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality internal audits, building and mentoring a team of skilled professionals, and driving business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement internal audit plans, risk assessments, and control frameworks
- Lead and manage a team of internal audit professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and implement risk management strategies
- Conduct fieldwork, prepare written reports, and deliverables of high quality and standard
- Drive business growth initiatives, working closely with Partners and Directors to identify new opportunities
Requirements:
- Strong risk consulting background, ideally gained in the professional services industry
- Accounting or business-related tertiary qualification
- Certifications or qualifications relevant to the role (CIA, CA, CPA, CISA, PRINCE2 etc.)
- Sound experience with IIA Standards and Practices
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Management systems (SAP, Oracle, TechOne etc.)
- Ability to develop strategic and annual internal audit plans, enterprise-wide risk assessments, and framework reviews
- Demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders across a broad range of clients
- Background in developing and reviewing internal audit scopes and statements of work
- Solid experience in process mapping, risk, and control identification
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal at all levels
