Pathology Automation Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Biomedical Engineer to join our In-House Engineering Team in Bowen Hills, QLD, contributing to cutting-edge pathology automation.

This full-time position involves installing, maintaining, and servicing laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Installing, maintaining, and servicing laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems
  • Deploying and integrating new equipment in laboratory settings, ensuring seamless transitions
  • Responding to technical issues, resolving them promptly to minimize downtime
  • Maintaining accurate records of service activities, including inventory management and report generation
  • Adhering to WHS policies and compliance regulations, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Providing technical support and training to customers and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships
  • Contributing to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the team, driving innovation and excellence
  • Participating in training programs, including self-learning and hands-on experience, to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Supporting on-call duties as part of a rostered system, providing 24/7 customer support
  • Traveling as required for customer support and national training events, expanding your horizons

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.

A valid driver's license and permanent work rights in Australia are also essential.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Windows environments, with knowledge of LIS systems, Middleware Solutions, Linux, CAN-BUS, and interfacing principles being advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate strong self-organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • A commitment to high service quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
