About the Role:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive data engineering strategies to manage workloads, analytics products, and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Data Engineers and QA Engineers to achieve timely and budget-conscious project outcomes.
  • Promote business improvement and process optimization to maximize resource investments.
  • Oversight of multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring service reliability and technical excellence.
  • Manage and enhance critical data engineering workloads through thorough work planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative business strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain operational networks, providing expert advice across the agency and government.
  • Promote workplace safety and proactively report incidents, hazards, and injuries.

About You:

  • Offer expert advice on data engineering and architecture, supporting projects and strategic goals.
  • Promote and improve the department's data analytics capabilities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and operational teams, ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Show understanding of government policies, data security, cloud computing, data warehousing, and agile project management.
  • Familiarity with government processes, including WHS, Equal Opportunity, records management, and procurement.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
