At our organization, we prioritize the well-being and growth of our employees. Our global operations provide a diverse environment where individuals can develop their skills and advance in their careers.

The position of Rail Controller is pivotal in ensuring the safety of our personnel on-site and meeting production targets by efficiently managing our rail network.

As a Rail Controller, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing mainline and yard movements under the supervision of the Supervisor Rail Control.

Our team works collaboratively to adhere to the rail safety management plan and meet daily train schedules, resulting in a continuous supply of iron ore from mines to ports.

We provide a safe working environment for track maintenance, signal, and communication maintenance teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with operating philosophies and adhering to company safety standards.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and adherence to rail operating procedures.
  • Continuously improving operating efficiency and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Reporting any significant deviations from the daily operations plan to the direct supervisor.
  • Cultivating positive relationships through effective communication and consultation.
  • Conducting daily work area inspections and reporting incidents, breaches, near misses, or hazards to the Control Room Supervisor.

This position operates on our Lifestyle Roster, featuring a pattern of days and nights, with two full weekends off out of four. The shift rotation includes 12.5-hour shifts including handover, accompanied by additional shift allowances and an extra week of annual leave per year.

To excel in this role, it is crucial to possess previous Rail Control experience, preferably in a mining environment. Our Rail Controllers exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day conduct of their work.

Desirable traits include high levels of computer literacy, strong technical skills, excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and previous work history in process-driven areas. A positive and supportive team player is essential.
