The Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting operations of a business unit, including month and year-end processing, associated journals, and account reconciliations.

Key activities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts
  • Providing financial information and analysis per reporting deadlines
  • Preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements
  • Preparation of compliance activities, including BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover, and payroll tax returns, and supporting work papers
  • Assisting in financial planning and forecasting for the business unit

Requirements:

  • An accounting degree
  • 2-3 years' work experience in an accounting role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities
  • Customer focus and responsiveness
  • Currently studying or intention to start CPA
