Job Title: Assistant Manager, AuditJob Description:

We are seeking a seasoned audit professional to join our Brisbane Audit team as an Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in external audit, with a thorough understanding of financial statement areas and the ability to identify potential risks of material misstatement.

The successful candidate will execute and manage audits of listed companies, large private companies, and not-for-profit clients, monitoring resources effectively throughout the duration of an audit engagement. They will also be responsible for identifying audit and engagement risks, contributing to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment, and working closely with engagement partners to identify potential problem areas or budget difficulties.

Awareness of reporting and regulatory requirements across various frameworks is essential, as well as analysis and documentation of internal controls and control environments. The role also involves drafting management letters and completion reports, completing performance reviews, and identifying training needs. Liaising with clients and identifying future opportunities is also a key aspect of this position.

  • Execute and manage audits of listed company, large private company and not-for-profit clients ranging in size and industry
  • Monitor and allocate resources effectively throughout duration of an audit engagement
  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment Work closely with engagement partners in identifying potential problem areas or budget difficulties

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years external audit experience in a professional services firm
  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Thorough understanding of all financial statement areas
  • Ability to identify potential risks of material misstatement and design audit tests to mitigate those risks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience in reviewing General Purpose accounts, included listed entities
  • Ability to identify scope and solve problems
  • Experience and passion in leading and developing teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an in-depth understanding of Audit software
