About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Uniting AgeWell Strathdevon in Latrobe. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to our residents with complex needs, including palliative care, dementia support, restorative care, and pain management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered care to residents, taking into account their cultural, spiritual, and individual needs.
  • Manage complex care needs, including catheter management, palliative care, wound management, and identification and escalation of clinical deterioration.
  • Lead, support, and educate Enrolled Nurses and Extended Care Assistants to ensure high-quality care delivery.
  • Promote a harmonious team approach by coordinating daily routines and adhering to safe practice measures in medication management.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery and resident satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Div 1.
  • Experience as a registered nurse in residential aged care or home care (preferred).
  • Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired).
  • Strong decision-making, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to working in a values-based organization that prioritizes kindness, respect, integrity, innovation, and inclusion.
Essential Requirements
  • A current Working With Vulnerable People card.
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance.
