About the Buying Assistant Role

As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to support the Buyer in the product development cycle. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and display initiative in supporting and partnering with the Buyer to improve financial results and achieve business objectives.

You will assist with the product development process, maintain and develop effective supplier relationships, and communicate effectively with various departments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of current fashion trends aligned to our customer base
  • Communicate creative input and suggest improvements to products being developed
  • Provide input on garment construction, fabrics, and their performance, styling, and durability
  • Administer tasks associated with managing critical path
  • Prepare reports and presentations for weekly sales meetings
  • Attend fit sessions
  • Liaise with suppliers and build effective supplier partnerships
  • Communicate regularly with store teams and other departments

Requirements:

  • Relevant education: Design/Buying/Merchandise Diploma or Business/Commercial degree
  • Previous experience as a Buying Assistant in a fashion retail environment is desirable
  • A passion for fashion and a desire to grow in this field
  • Sound knowledge and proficiency in MS Suite
  • Experience in managing administrative tasks
  • A proactive, collaborative, and adaptable nature
