Driving Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Driving Instructor to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a vital role in facilitating and delivering learner driver education to at-risk young people in our Drive for Life program.

• Provide practical driving instruction and facilitate workshops that improve road safety awareness and learning.
• Be responsible for the intake, assessment, and induction of young people into the Drive for Life program.
• Create individualized lesson plans and provide clear instructions during lesson delivery.
• Complete accurate assessments of student readiness towards achieving the provisional licence.

• A valid and current Driver Licence.
• A current WA Working With Children Check.
• A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• A minimum of 3 continuous years driving experience.
• A certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport: Driving Instruction) or similar nationally-recognised certificate or the willingness to work towards this qualification or alternative routes to becoming a professional driving instructor.
• To pass a medical fitness standard for Driving Instructors licence.
• Knowledge of work health safety obligations and you will put them into practice in the workplace.
• Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
• Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
