About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Child and Youth Mental Health Service in a vibrant regional facility in tropical North Queensland.

As a Regional Child and Youth Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced standard clinical care, including assessment and treatment services to children and young people up to the age of 18 years who present with mental disorders, alcohol and other drug issues, and emotional and/or behavioural problems.

You will work closely with rural communities and support the Child and Adolescent Court Liaison Forensic Mental Health Service. Additional responsibilities include supervising and teaching junior medical staff and medical students, as well as participating in clinical governance activities.

One of the key requirements of this role is participation in the after-hours on-call roster, where you will provide services to consumers across the full age range.

About You:

  • A strong background in child and youth mental health, with experience in assessment and treatment services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
