Key Position: Canteen Assistant

Job Summary:

The role of a Canteen Assistant involves supporting the educational services provided to students. The position requires coordination and supervision of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with MEC Canteen arrangements for P-12 and Special needs students and staff
  • Preparing seasonally appropriate menus with healthy choices
  • Counting and reconciling Canteen cash takings daily
  • Completing stock inventory annually in a timely and accurate manner

Additionally, the role may involve specific support tasks, coordination of the support function, supervised health and wellbeing support tasks, medical intervention support tasks, or other specialized student/teacher support roles.

Requirements:

  • Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment:

The role is based in an educational setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
