We are seeking a professional Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Bethanie Peel Aged Care Home, located in Mandurah. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified therapist to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality therapy services to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents. This will involve assessing residents' abilities, developing individualized plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.

In this role, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, dietitians, and speech pathologists, to ensure comprehensive care and support for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete thorough assessments of residents' abilities and develop individualized plans to address their needs.
  • Design and implement effective therapy programs to promote independence, mobility, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting.
Requirements
  • CURRENT FULL, UNRESTRICTED REGISTRATION WITH THE AUSTRALIAN HEALTH PRACTITIONER REGULATION AGENCY (AHPRA) AS AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
  • RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN AN AGED CARE ENVIRONMENT OR SUPPORTING PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA IS AN ADVANTAGE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
  • BEST NEGOTIATION, COMMUNICATION, AND RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING SKILLS
  • EXCELLENT PROBLEM-SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING SKILLS
  • ABILITY TO MANAGE A COMPLEX WORKLOAD AND ADAPT TO FAST-CHANGING PRIORITIES AND ENVIRONMENTS
  • CUSTOMER-FOCUSED AND EFFECTIVE IN WORKING WITH A BROAD RANGE OF STAKEHOLDERS
  • EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS, INCLUDING STRONG VERBAL AND WRITTEN ABILITIES, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
