Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Principal Program Officer at the Queensland Reconstruction Authority. As a key member of our recovery team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of recovery programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Direction: Provide expert guidance on the strategic direction of state, regional, and local resilience and recovery investment opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Policy Advice: Offer expert advice on disaster recovery funding agency (DRFA) policy reform and complex DRFA Category C and D eligibility queries, supporting business case development and engagement with state and Commonwealth representatives.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and guide internal and external stakeholders on DRFA exceptional package design, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Disaster Impact Identification: Oversee disaster impact identification during response and recovery, informing DRFA activations, recovery action planning, and state-wide exceptional package requirements.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with colleagues across the organization to guide strategic recovery policy activities, ensuring communities can access appropriate funds following a disaster event.
  • Relationship Building: Build and manage positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues, other levels of government, industry, and non-government organizations, to achieve policy outcomes and ensure disaster recovery and resilience funding programs provide the best outcomes for communities.
  • Team Support: Support divisional priorities, considering organizational needs, and provide support and guidance for team members and across the Queensland Reconstruction Authority as needed.
  • Representation: Represent the Queensland Reconstruction Authority's position in meetings, committees, and cross-agency forums at state and national level, drawing on organizational expertise and experience to influence the wider policy agenda.
  • Project Management: Undertake related projects and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
