This role involves working alongside other Engineering Authorities to liaise with stakeholders, conduct engineering assessments, and review ECPs. You will demonstrate advanced technical theories, methodologies, and principles to provide innovative solutions to project constraints.

You will have the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and be mentored on Engineering methodology and processes. You will also be enrolled in our national Engineering network and work in a friendly team to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As the technical interface between the customer, management, and implementation teams, you will conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
  • You will provide engineering support for the sustainment of Patrol and Hydrographic ships during maintenance activities and in-service defects.
  • You will review engineering documentation such as docking calculations, stability calculations, structural calculations, work instructions, defect assessments, repair procedures, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • You will engage with System Design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product, consistent across all subsystems, and deliver system design to meet performance requirements.
  • You will develop work scope and risk assessments for in-service defects, trials, emerging maintenance, and reliability issues requiring knowledge of engineering fundamentals and relevant class society requirements.
  • You will produce safety and technical risk assessments in accordance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System.
  • You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure Raytheon Australia's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.

About this Opportunity:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 AUD based on the location and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Naval Architecture or similar holding as a minimum and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
  • Experience conducting Naval Architecture analysis within a heavy engineering, shipbuilding, or defence industry.
  • Ability to represent Engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business.
