Role Overview

The National Library of Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Special Collections Coordinator. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our readers and researchers, providing expertise and support in the delivery of reference and research services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide reference and research services onsite and online, utilizing your expertise in special collections.
  • Coach and support staff in the use of special collections, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent service.
  • Develop and present content for staff and reader education on the use of special collections, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Develop policies relating to the provision of reference services, ensuring they are aligned with the Library's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute ideas and participate in the implementation of service improvement initiatives, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management, Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and readers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
