About the Role:

">

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Manager to lead our department's ICT Security Team. The ICT Security Team is responsible for protecting and securing our department's information assets, including monitoring and managing threats and vulnerabilities, and managing and responding to cyber security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Provide expert tactical and operational ICT security advice to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and compliance of all our department's information assets">
  • Critically assess existing IT policies, standards, and procedures, and develop proposals for determining ICT security policies, standards, and procedures">
  • Actively participate in issue resolution and critical incident response across ICT security environments in our department, as well as provide critical escalation paths to whole-of-government response efforts">
  • Provide input and assistance to and monitor new projects, strategic, and operational plans for security and associated infrastructure within our department's systems and services">
  • Participate in designing, capacity planning, configuration management, administration, change management, documentation, and support of security technologies within our department and partner agencies">
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of senior security specialists to monitor, investigate, contain, eradicate, recover, document, and report on security events and incidents">
  • Maintain, update, and continually expand knowledge of developments and trends within the network and information security industry, and evaluate the applicability to our department's systems">
  • Monitor emerging ICT security trends, identify immediate and long-term opportunities, and align solutions with strategic priorities">

Mandatory Criteria:

The essential requirements for this role include:

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and remediate security risks to an acceptable level">
  • Experience in ICT security architecture design and implementation">
  • Experience in information technology with a clear understanding of the challenges of network security">
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)">
  • Strong understanding of information security risk and vulnerability management">
  • In-depth knowledge or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of various technologies, including firewalls, public key infrastructure management, application delivery controllers, anti-virus configuration and management, VPN and remote access systems, and experience in performing ICT security and risk assessments of major projects">
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage outcomes within the team and with inter-departmental teams">
  • Effective communication skills to ensure coordination within the team and across other stakeholders">
