We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Consultant to join our team at SA Health, providing community-based services to children and young people with disability or complex health needs.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high-quality community-based services to children and young people in educational settings, ensuring their functional levels are maintained in a community setting using evidence-based best practices.
- Facilitate a seamless transition from hospital to community, assisting the child or young person's education provider in meeting their needs through our Access Assistant Program.
- Provide consultancy, information, and relevant training, liaising with other service providers working with children and young people with disability/complex health needs, and their families.
- Support education and research within Disability Services, encouraging and supporting team work amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent with Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Knowledge of contemporary practice and research in relation to Disability.
- Clinical experience in child, adolescent, or community health medical management.
- Clinical experience in holistic disability management.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.
