We are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join our team at Austal, a leading global shipbuilder and Defence prime contractor. As a key member of the Enterprise Project Management team, you will be responsible for managing budgets, cost performance monitoring, and ensuring accurate forecasting.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cost management principles, budgeting, and forecasting. They will also have experience working within an Earned Value Management System and knowledge of cost control processes and procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and outcome-focused environment, where you will have the chance to drive good practice in cost management across project/program delivery leaders. You will also have the opportunity to lead the cost control framework for the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement at a portfolio, program, and project level.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • 5-10 years' experience in a similar role in a large, complex production or transformation program.
  • Strong understanding of cost management principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Application of cost control processes and procedures in an EVMS environment.
