About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shotfirer to join the Thiess Drill & Blast Crew for Pembroke Resource's new project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.

The successful candidate will work a 7/7 dayshift roster with requirement for night shift when required (additional night shift rate applies) and report to the Drill & Blast Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Magazine management and on-site transport of explosives
  • Managing the loading, tying, and firing of blasts following blast designs
  • Daily reconciliation and reporting of explosives usage
  • Assist with training and mentoring of blast crew members
  • Identifying, communicating and management of hazards within the work area

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A Valid QLD Shotfirer Licence and Drivers' Licence
  • Current Standard 11
  • Experience using electronic initiation systems
  • Demonstrated compliance with safety and a good knowledge of explosive regulations
  • Operational experience in Mobile Processing Units is preferred
  • Ability to operate a loader, bobcat and stemming truck is desirable
