About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Woolworths Group. As a key member of our Finance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review divisional trading results, providing critical financial support and insightful reporting to relevant teams.

  • Ensure reconciliations are prepared effectively, with clear descriptions of outstanding items, supporting documentation, and an action plan for resolution.

  • Uphold accounting policies and standards through rigorous reviews, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate processes using technology.

  • Coach and mentor a small team of subject matter experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to deliver value and drive strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • A finance-related degree with a CA or CPA qualification.

  • Proven experience in a similar senior accounting role managing end-to-end P&L and Balance Sheet processes.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, with strong presentation and storytelling skills.

  • Strong business partnering skills, focusing on building relationships, understanding business needs, and driving customer-centric solutions.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, BPC) are essential. Knowledge of SQL, GCP, or Tableau is highly desirable.
