We are a leading player in the Tasmanian timber wholesale industry, providing high-quality products to retail and commercial clients. Our company is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Team Lead to drive continued growth and success.

This is a full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary package and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, meeting or exceeding sales targets, and staying up-to-date with market trends and pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and manage client relationships to drive business growth
  • Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a strong understanding of market trends and pricing strategies
  • Sources and negotiates pricing with timber suppliers to maintain competitive stock levels
  • Develops sales strategies for timber products targeting both retail and commercial clients
  • Ensures product knowledge is up-to-date to offer informed advice on timber grades, treatments, and uses
  • Oversees daily operations ensuring compliance with OH&S standards
  • Delegates tasks to yard staff and maintains accurate stock levels
  • Coordinates stock deliveries and ensures quality control of timber products upon arrival
  • Provides professional advice and timely quotations
  • Ensures customer orders are delivered on time and to specification

Requirements:

  • Experience in a sales management role, preferably in the timber or building materials sector
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Licence to operate a counterbalance forklift
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of freight and supplier costs in a competitive market

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
