The Young Women's Academy Program Lead role plays a vital part in working with students to enhance school attendance and performance, develop career pathways, and strengthen cultural identity.

Job Description:

This position involves delivering programs in schools, including planning, coordination, and implementation. The successful candidate will maintain strong relationships with students, community members, and the school, providing mentorship and support to First Nation students aged 12-18 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver NASCA programs in schools, incorporating program planning, coordination, and implementation.
  • Maintain effective relationships with students, community members, and the school.
  • Provide mentorship and support to First Nation students aged 12-18 years, including facilitating workshops, in-class tutoring, and outside-class assistance.
  • Implement NASCA Life Skills and School Engagement activities, such as cooking, creative arts, leadership, CV creation, goal setting, and job-ready skills.
  • Organize physical education activities that include Traditional Indigenous Games.
  • Coordinate after-school and weekend activities and excursions.
  • Facilitate community activities, fostering opportunities for cultural exchange between community, school, and NASCA.
  • Develop Personalized Learning Pathway Plans for NASCA students.
  • Collaborate with school staff, working weekends and overnights to run residential programs and camps.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
