At the University of New South Wales, we are seeking a highly accomplished Computer Science Professor to join our faculty in a Teaching and Research role. This pivotal position offers an exceptional opportunity to spearhead outstanding research on both national and international levels, while delivering exceptional teaching to the next generation of computer science engineers.

This esteemed role is within the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), one of the largest Schools of its kind in Australia. Our academic staff have research focus in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Computer Systems, Secure and Trustworthy Systems, Theoretical Computer Science, Data Science and Information Systems, and Humans and Machines.

We offer undergraduate programs in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Cyber Security, as well as postgraduate degrees in Information Technology and combined degrees with other disciplines. Our students are renowned for their excellence in international competitions, startups, and employment outcomes in leading tech firms.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience. Proven commitment to keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments is essential. Experience in teaching and learning design, course development, online delivery methods, and implementing educational technologies is highly valued.

A demonstrated ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds is crucial, along with expertise in curriculum development and improvement. Significant track records in research leadership and recruiting high-calibre students are also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent research and deliver exceptional teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Develop and implement new courses and programs, leveraging your expertise in Computer Science and Embedded Systems
  • Lead and mentor junior academics and researchers in research and teaching endeavors
  • Pursue research collaborations with industry partners and external stakeholders to drive innovation and impact
  • Mentor and supervise students in their research projects, fostering their growth and development as future leaders in the field

About the Role:
