About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Violence Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team at Uniting Limited. The Orange Door Program brings together workforces from various organizations to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for individuals and families experiencing or having experienced family violence.

As a Family Violence Practitioner, you will operate collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families facing family violence. Your focus will be on providing services to vulnerable families who require extra support with the care, development, and wellbeing of infants, children, and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive risk and needs assessments and risk management responses.
  • Operate within a family-centered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support families in need.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a coordinated response to family violence.
  • Provide education and support to families on healthy relationships, parenting, and child development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience or related qualification relevant to child and family welfare.
  • Current Drivers Licence valid in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated ability as a practitioner in the child, youth, and family welfare field.
  • Commitment to the family-centered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice.
  • Understanding of the 'Best Interests' framework, CYFA 2005, Family Violence Protection Act 2008, FVISS, CISS, and MARAM frameworks.
  • Understanding of the gendered nature of family violence.
