Contract Surveillance Officer - Civil & Structural

DFP Recruitment Services is seeking a diligent and experienced Contract Surveillance Officer to join a dynamic team on a major transport infrastructure project.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled professional to perform inspections, internal audits, and carry out surveillance of contractors' works to ensure compliance with contract conditions, public safety, rail safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess contractors' work methodology and construction plans.
  • Inspect civil and structural works.
  • Ensure compliance with rail safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on contractors' progress and quality of work.
  • Identify and manage potential risks associated with civil and structural works.
  • Provide assessments on contractor progress payments and variation claims.

Selection Criteria:

Core Competencies:

  • Relevant technical qualification or extensive experience in civil and structural works.
  • Knowledge of rail safety.
  • Extensive experience in supervision of civil and structural works.

Management and Leadership:

  • Strong ability to manage contractual relationships and supervise work independently and within a team.

Communication and Interpersonal:

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Strong relationship management skills.

Analytical and Problem-Solving:

  • Strong investigation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Special Requirements:

  • Physical fitness for duties and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Current National Police Clearance and a Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to obtain PTA Individual Access (IA) Track Access Permit.
